There is much to explore in Core Keeper, and one of the largest hurdles to powering the Core is defeating Ghorm the Devourer. Ghorm is an unmistakable boss in the form of a large worm that takes up almost the entirety of the player’s screen. To find him, you need to walk in any direction until you stumble upon his tunnels.
These tunnels will be very wide and covered in slime, and there will be no question the player has found Ghorm’s lair. However, how do you defeat a boss that kills anyone and anything it touches in 1 hit? Here is everything players need to know about how to defeat Ghorm the Devourer.
Defeating Ghorm the Devourer in Core Keeper
To defeat Ghorm the Devourer in Core Keeper, you must navigate through tunnels to find Ghorm’s lair and create Spike traps. Then, you’ll need to clear away the slime in his lair and set up the traps in a rectangular pattern to destroy him. Keep reading for a step-by-step guide.
Ghorm the Devourer Location
Ghorm the Devourer may be a large and scary beast, but the good news is that he travels in a set path, which can be his biggest weakness. His tunnel travels in a large circle around the map, and you will know when he is coming around again because the screen will begin to shake. When this happens, you will need to dig into the wall of the tunnel to hide, as Ghorm will surely defeat you if he touches you.

Creating Spike Traps
Since Ghorm has so much HP, hitting him a few times as he passes is not going to be enough to defeat him. Instead, you will have to lay a trap to kill him. This can be done by crafting Spike Traps on the Tin Workbench.
These traps deal 51 – 61 damage to the first enemy to trigger them. Since Ghorm has 3660 HP, you will need 72 traps to bring him down. Since this is a lot of tin required, you must ensure you are ready for this endeavor.
Setting a Trap for Ghorm
Once you have the required Spike Traps, choose a spot inside the tunnel but not nearby your base. This is because if the traps do not instantly kill Ghorm, he will enrage and destroy everything around him, your base included.
First, clear out all the slime in the cave by digging it up so that slimes do not spawn and trigger your traps. Then, wait for Ghorm to pass; once he does, quickly rush up and start setting the traps in a rectangle pattern in the tunnel. If done correctly, he will immediately die upon passing over the traps.
Ghorm the Devourer Rewards
After Ghorm has been defeated, you can head over and collect the prize: Ghorm’s Horn and Ghorm’s Stomach Bag. The horn is used to activate his statue, and the bag is used to store items. Not a bad haul for setting some traps.
