You can see a full list of Cyberpunk 2077 version 1.61. patch notes here. The list item we’re focused on is primarily this one:
- Added support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.1 (PC and next-gen consoles only).
Adding FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.1 support means Cyberpunk 2077 can run at a higher resolution with improved performance. A sort of rival to Nvidia’s DLSS, AMD’s FSR actually works on most GPUs, according to Tom’s Hardware. Players without Nvidia cards, specifically next-gen console owners on Xbox and PlayStation — systems whose GPU utilizes AMD architecture — can test out FSR 2.1 when the patch fully rolls out.
Next-gen console owners and PC gamers can finally enjoy the gameplay at more stable framerates and higher resolutions. Gamers can expect a sharper and clearer picture thanks to AMD’s hardware-agnostic rendering technique. The results should deliver smooth framerates at higher quality graphics. A Reddit user reports a drastic difference running Cyberpunk 2077 with FSR 2.1 on an Xbox Series X.
In addition to this noteworthy change, there’s a long list of quests and open-world fixes for various Gigs and Cyberpsycho Sightings. A major issue with temporary FPS drops when exiting menus has also been addressed for PC players. Again, Cyberpunk fans can read the full list of changes and fixes for patch 1.61 here.
