This year the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2022 begins on October 18 and will run until November 8, 2022. Players can start their journey into the Festival of the Lost when the event kicks off at 1 p.m. EST.

What is the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost event?

Each year Bungie adds some new spooky fun to the annual Festival of the Lost Event. Last year, players could take part in special Haunted Lost Sectors. This featured ghostly versions of enemies for them to fight. While it is not certain what event will be added this year, players only need to wait a few more days to get their answer. 

In addition to having new activities to help change up the game a bit, players will also be able to wear spooky masks when participating in these Halloween-themed events. Fun cosmetics will also be on display each year following its distinct theme.

For this year, Guardians can wear Mech-themed armor – with each class getting a different Mech-inspired look. The season’s look was determined by a player vote – with Team Mechs beating out Team Monsters.

Each year, Guardians can complete events during the Festival of the Lost to unlock special weapons. This year’s weapon may be a Sniper Rifle, as shown by data mining, though nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet.
