Destiny 2 is no stranger to having broken and overpowered weapons. However, when these weapons cause much more damage than intended, they can break the game. This is the case for the Lord of Wolves Exotic shotgun, which has two firing modes. Here’s why the Destiny 2 Lord of Wolves was removed temporarily from the game.
One of the firing modes is the default fire, but players can use the alternate firing mode to Release the Wolves and fire many more rounds in a burst and cause devastating damage. Recent changes to Lord of Wolves’ function have caused it to deal more damage than intended, which made Bungie disable it.
Lord of Wolves Temporarily Disabled
With a recent balance patch, Lord of Wolves has had its damage buffed by 40% for PvE while removing the 25% universal damage bonus to balance it out in PvP.
In addition, the gun also received reworks to critical hit and ADS penalties, but something went wrong. The gun ended up doing much more damage than intended, and the Twitter page Bungie Help tweeted:
Players Can Use Other Weapons in the Meantime
While the targeted date for bringing back Lord of Wolves is next week, players have plenty of other options they can use in the meantime. With so many guns at their disposal, there is always another fun option in Destiny 2, even with Destiny 2’s Lord of Wolves removed. Hopefully, no other weapons will break in the meantime.
