Diablo 4 Open Beta: Best Sorcerer Build

In addition to these six skills, we use the Ice Blades Enchantment, so we want a point in the second upgrade, Summoned Ice Blades. This upgrade is currently overpowered, making 50% of Enhanced Ice Blades’s Cooldown reduction apply to your other skills. One thing to make sure to do is to gamble on the gloves that have the +1 Hydra Aspect (Serpentine Aspect), so you can summon two Hydras at a time for double damage.

To play this build, you’re stacking points into Hydra, as it will be your primary damage-dealing ability. Frost Nova applies Vulnerable, and Ice Armor helps your Effectiveness. Arc Lash (or the Basic Skill of your choice) and Ice Blades are your cooldown reduction skills, allowing you to spam all castable skills off cooldown. Basically, teleport around spamming Frost Nova and Ice Blades and placing Hydras everywhere.

You can complete this by imprinting Aspects and getting gear that gives damage multipliers, such as Edgemaster’s Aspect.

Skills Breakdown

You can use any Basic Skill for this build, but we like to use Arc Lash. Glinting Arc Lash reduces your Cooldowns by 0.25 seconds when hitting a Stunned enemy.

We’ll skip out on a Core Skill and instead put three points into Potent Warding. This passive survival skill grants you 6% Resistance to all elements and 3% Resistance after casting a non-basic skill. Totally optional, but it does add some survivability if you play Hardcore.

Teleport is an essential Sorcerer skill for any build. In Diablo 4, your teleport has no limits, so you can teleport as far as the span of your screen. A point in Enhanced Teleport and a point in Shimmering Teleport for a 30% Damage Reduction for 5 seconds.

Ice Armor is also suitable for this build, as you’ll want to pick up Mystical Ice Armor for more Barrier when you damage Vulnerable enemies. Lastly, Frost Nova is what we’ll use to apply Vulnerable on enemies for eight seconds. You will need to pick up Mystical Frost Nova to pick this one up.

Hydra is insanely powerful in the Open Beta, so that will be the core of this build. Pick up Invoked Hydra to increase your Hydra’s Critical Strike Chance by 30% whenever you Critically Strike.

Lastly, we’ll pick up Ice Blades for our Enchantment, so we want a point in the second upgrade, Summoned Ice Blades. This upgrade is currently overpowered, as it makes 50% of Enhanced Ice Blades’s Cooldown reduction apply to your other skills.

Enchantment

The Ice Blades Enchantment has the following effects:

  • Ice Blades’s Cooldown is reduced by 1 second each time it hits a Vulnerable enemy.
  • 50% of Enhanced Ice Blades’s Cooldown reduction is applied to your other Skills.
  • For every 20 seconds in Cooldowns you spend, you spawn an Ice Blades on a random enemy.

Ice Blades is what makes this build overpowered since you can basically get your cooldowns down to just a couple of seconds and pump insane damage.

That’s our best Diablo 4 Sorcerer build for Open Beta. We encourage all players to experiment with their own variations to see what they like best. Visit our Diablo 4 section for more guides and walkthroughs.
