How to Get Competitive Points in Overwatch 2

Looking to climb the ladder? Here's how to get Competitive Points in Overwatch 2.

Overwatch 2 can undoubtedly be a very competitive game. With the recent changes to how teams are composed, moving from 6v6 battles to 5v5 with one less tank, each player must pull additional weight. With this in mind, Ranked or Competitive Mode is the premier game mode that players can participate in to prove their skills. Here’s how players can get Competitive Points in Overwatch 2

In Overwatch 2, players are placed into a rank and sent into matches with other players of a similar rank. Winning games and proving oneself will increase their rank and help them move to the next level. Competitive Points are the points earned from winning in Competitive Matches. But how can players earn them, and what are they used for?

How to Use Competitive Points in Overwatch 2

In Overwatch 2, Competitive Points only have one specific use. That is to earn players their Golden Weapons. These weapons are special variants of their favorite heroes’ weapons, with golden skin that shines brilliantly.

When other players see these golden skins, they will know a player has been playing for a long time with that hero or is very good at Competitive Mode. This is because each one of these golden skins costs 3000 Competitive Points.

The more a player tries their hand in ranked mode, the better they will become at the end of the day. With enough time, dedication and perseverance, players will be able to get enough Competitive Points to earn a golden weapon skin.
