Overwatch 2 is the newest game in the popular team-based first-person shooter by Blizzard Entertainment. With this latest rendition, players have 35 different heroes they can choose from. Each hero has their own list of special cosmetics, including skins, highlight intros, emotes, voice lines, and more. To unlock these fun extras, players can use Overwatch Coins. In Overwatch 2, Overwatch Coins are the premium currency that can be purchased using real money from the in-game shop. However, players can earn free Overwatch coins and save up for the skin they’ve been eyeing or even get a complete Battle Pass. Here is how to get free Overwatch Coins.
How to Get Free Overwatch 2 Coins
To earn free Overwatch 2 coins, open Overwatch 2 and click Challenges. Then click the Weekly tab and look at the missions on the right side of the screen. Complete the Weekly Challenges to earn your free Overwatch 2 coins.
You get the following coin amounts for the following missions:
- 30 Coins: Complete 4 Weekly Challenges
- 20 Coins: Complete 8 Weekly Challenges
- 10 Coins: Complete 11 Weekly Challenges
If Blizzard doesn’t add any additional ways to earn free Overwatch Coins, players can earn 240 coins per month. It will take players around four and a half months to earn enough coins for the Premium Battle Pass.
Buying Overwatch 2 Coins
Since cosmetics such as the legendary skins cost 1900 Overwatch Coins, it can take free-to-play players quite some time to save up for these special items. If there is a specific item that players wish to purchase, however, they can break out the credit card and purchase Overwatch Coins. Click Shop, then click the + sign next to the Coin icon to add coins to your account.
- 500 Coins: $4.99
- 1000 Coins: $9.99
- 2200 Coins: $19.99
- 5700 Coins: $49.99
- 11600 Coins: $99.99
Players who have purchased the Overwatch 2 Watchpoint Pack will receive 2000 Overwatch Coins and can use them to jump-start their cosmetic collection.
