Fans of the free-roaming and city-destroying Goat Simulator, a game by Coffee Stain Studios, are excited about the latest addition and sequel to the 2014 game, Goat Simulator 3. Completely skipping over Goat Simulator 2, this newest game promises to be an even deeper dive into the world of goat simulator, complete with the ability to participate in online multiplayer. But is Goat Simulator 3 cross platform? Here is everything we know about Goat Simulator 3 and the ability to play with other platforms with crossplay.
Updated 11/7/2022: This post was updated to reflect the official response from Coffee Stain Studios.
Will Goat Simulator 3 Have Cross Platform play?
Coffee Stain Studios confirmed with Gamer Digest that Goat Simulator 3 will not feature crossplay upon release. They went on to say, “But we might (or not) look into that later.” As usual, the game’s creators were cheeky in their response but confirmed that players will have to play with people on the same platform upon launch.
However, that being said–Goat Simulator 3 will indeed have the ability for players to play with each other online.
The game will release on multiple platforms on November 17, 2022, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
Since the game will feature up to 4 players working together to create as much chaos and destruction as possible, it may be something that is added at a later date. However, for now, players can thank their lucky stars they can play with friends, as in the original Goat Simulator MMO DLC, it wasn’t really playing with other people, even though it seemed like it (Microwave class was the best class).
It will certainly be interesting to see how much a group of players can destroy, and as always, the physics will make for a highly entertaining and hilarious goat adventure.
