According to the official Overwatch website, cross-progression and cross-play will be available for Overwatch 2. In addition, with Overwatch 2 going free-to-play, fans can easily download and play the game on any compatible system they own.
One of the most requested features for Overwatch has always been the ability for players to have cross-platform gameplay as well as cross-progress. This is because Overwatch was available for many different platforms, including the Xbox, PlayStation, PC, and even eventually ported to the Nintendo Switch. But unfortunately for fans of the game, Overwatch never got these features since its release in 2016.
Thankfully, however, Blizzard is listening to player feedback this time around. This means that all of the player’s hard-earned cosmetics, ranks, and stats will be able to follow them no matter what system they choose to play on.
