Life by You Doesn’t Make You Pay for Toddlers

Life by You, the new sim game, guarantees players at least Teens, Adults, and Elders life stages at the start of its Early Access launch.

The new life simulator, Life by You, currently under development by Paradox, is looking better and better with every update. While early indications have already shown this to be a more complete game than others in the genre, the developers are now beginning to show some sneak peeks of what players can expect when the game releases on September 12, 2023, on PC.

According to the first blog post by the Life by You team, the game will eventually feature all life stages in the base game. This includes Infants, Toddlers, Teens, Adults, and Elders. However, it’s still up in the air whether the children’s life stage will be complete in time for the September Early Access launch — so players may have to wait, but hopefully not for long.

According to the developers:

Infants and toddlers will be included in the base game eventually and we have designed our systems with them in mind. Both have been prototyped and playtested in development, but need additional polish and design to reach what we consider to be an acceptable quality bar for gameplay depth and visuals.

In Life by You, characters in your world will have a birthday and gradually age over time. Visuals, animations, dialogue choices, jobs, interactions, and other factors will depend on which stage of life the character is in, just like in real life.

For example, kids won’t be able to drive cars or have a job, and dating and romantic relationships will unlock when the character reaches the teen life stage, making age in Life by You an important factor in the game.
