Today marks the launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer mode, and players are eager to hop into the action and start fragging. Upon launching the game, there have been reports of the players not receiving the contents for the Vault Edition of the game when they did, in fact, pre-order it. If your Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition is not working, here are some things you can try to fix it.
Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition Not Working
The issue seems to be primarily affecting PlayStation 5 and PC players at the moment. Common issues include the game telling you to upgrade to Vault Edition and Modern Warfare 2 not granting access to the Vault items.
If you’re on a PC, you may see this error because you’re trying to play the game too early. The MW2 worldwide launch is at midnight on October 28, 2022. Visit our Modern Warfare 2 countdown page if you want to see how much time is left. For PlayStation users, you can do a little trick that seems to fix it for most players.
How to Get your Vault Items on PS5
To get your Modern Warfare 2 Vault Items on PlayStation 5:
- Go to your PlayStation Settings and then Users and Accounts.
- Go to Other and select Restore Licenses.
- Restart your PlayStation 5.
- Relaunch the game.
It’s worth noting that you may have to wait a few minutes for the license to register. If you still do not have access to your Vault items after following the steps above, we’d recommend waiting a few minutes and trying again.
Some users report the issue fixes itself after simply restarting the PlayStation. You can try to restart it manually to see if that helps.
The issue is currently affecting most users on PlayStation 5, so we recommend being patient while the developers work on fixing it. We anticipate there will likely be a patch or some backend fix that will resolve the problem shortly.
