Pharaoh: A New Era, the reboot of the popular 1999 city-builder, isn’t completely straightforward all the time. One of the things that might have confused you at first is how to build a festival square.
One of the first quests you’ll have in Pharaoh: A New Era is to build up the small city of Thinis in 3100 BC. One of the more confusing sections of this mission is how to build a Festival Square, but it’s actually quite easy once you understand it.
Festival Squares in Pharaoh: A New Era enables players to hold festivals for the gods of their city. This construction improves overall happiness and quality of life for your citizens.
How to Build a Festival Square in Pharaoh: A New Era
To build a Festival Square, players must first set down an intersecting road with enough space to accommodate the Festival Square. The road must be crossed in the center and be a true four-way intersection for it to be placed.
When you’ve found the right spot, the square will turn from red to the color of the building, indicating that you’re placing it in the right spot. A few other buildings and constructions in the game require exact placement, so remember to read the building description if you’re having trouble figuring out how to place a structure.
How to Hold a Festival in Pharaoh: A New Era
Festivals make your citizens and the Gods of your city happier. To hold one, hit the Overseers icon, then the Overseer of the Temples icon on the left side of the screen. Click the Hold New Festival button. Choose the size of the festival you want to hold then click, Order a Festival.
Players will have a choice between a Common, Lavish, and Grand festival, each of which will improve your society’s religion and your society’s relationship with their god.
That’s everything you need to know about building a Festival Square and holding a festival in Pharaoh: A New Era.
