Giving gifts in Pharaoh: A New Era is an easy way to increase your overall Kingdom rating, but doing so requires a little work. Here’s how it works.
If you need to get that Kingdom rating up but feel like there’s no viable way to do it, giving gifts to the people of Egypt is one easy way to accomplish your goal, the only catch is that it will cost some debens from your personal coffers. Here’s how to give gifts in Pharaoh: A New Era.
How to Give Gifts in Pharaoh
Giving gifts to kingdoms and leaders in Pharaoh: A New Era increases the Kingdom stat for your settlement which is commonly tied to the requirements to complete missions. To give a gift to the people of Egypt, players must select the Overseer tab on the left side of the screen, then click Political Overseer. Debens for the gift will come from your personal coffers, not your settlements, and players must first build a Mansion to start building their personal savings.
Building a Mansion and Setting Your Salary
To start building personal savings, players must build a Mansion under the Services tab on the right side of the screen. You can adjust your monthly salary by clicking the structure after it’s built, which will come out of your settlement revenue for the month. The debens will start accumulating in your vaults and can be viewed by clicking the Mansion structure. Players can also view their monthly salary via the Political Overseer tab.
Setting your personal salary too high will negatively impact your Kingdom rating while setting it low can help improve your Kingdom rating over time.
Giving a Gift
Once you have enough debens in your vaults, you can give a gift. Gifts are given to the people and leaders of other civilizations, which raises your overall Kingdom rating. To give a gift, select the Overseers tab on the left side of the screen, then click Political Overseer. Players have the option to Send a Gift or Give to the City. Both options will have a positive effect on your Kingdom Rating.
- Send a Gift: Three options with varying Kingdom rating bonuses.
- Give to the City: Set monetary options of 500, 1000, 2000, 5000, or an adjustable donation amount.
If you choose Send a Gift, you’ll receive three options:
- Modest: Lowest level gift and provides minor Kingdom bonus.
- Generous: Medium-level gift that provides a medium Kingdom bonus.
- Lavish: Highest-level gift and provides a significant Kingdom bonus.
Players should only send a single gift per year, as sending more than that will make the populace come to expect gifts, which reduces your Kingdom rating over time if you don’t send those gifts. In other words, people will come to expect a lot if you’re too charitable.
Ultimately, sending gifts is a nice little hack player can use to quickly improve their Kingdom score. This can be especially useful if you’ve achieved all the other mission objectives and have to raise your Kingdom score before your civilization goes bankrupt.
For me, it’s come in handy in times when I’ve failed a lot of Pharaoh Requests, and my Kingdom score tanked because of it. Just remember, the higher your personal salary, the more your Kingdom score will reduce over time, so it’s better to set it low and accumulate the funds over time then going Pharaoh status (100 gold per month) and having everyone hate your guts because of it.
