Pokemon GO Evolving Stars: Start Date and Details

Cosmoem will make its Pokemon GO debut during the Evolving Stars event

Celebrate your Pokemon’s evolution and growth in the new GO Evolving Stars event. Cosmoem, the Protostar Pokemon, takes center stage and makes its debut, and trainers can also enjoy some exclusive Field Research and Collection Challenges focusing on Pokemon evolution. Below is everything you need to know about the Pokemon GO Evolving Stars start date and details.

When is the Pokemon GO Evolving Stars Event?

The Pokemon GO Evolving Stars event starts on October 5 at 10 a.m. local time and ends on October 11 at 8 p.m. local time.

Wild Encounters

The following Pokemon will occur more frequently in the wild during the Evolving Stars event:

  • Duskull  
  • Eevee  
  • Haunter  
  • Helioptile  
  • Kadabra  
  • Kakuna  
  • Litwick  
  • Pidgeotto  
  • Poliwhirl  
  • Ralts  
  • Rhyhorn  
  • Scyther  
  • Seadra  
  • Swinub  
  • Tynamo

Raids

 The following Pokemon GO Raids will be active during the Evolving Stars event:

  • One-star raids: Slowpoke, Onix, Scyther, Porygon, Sunkern
  • Three-star raids: Magneton, Rhydon, Togetic, Piloswine
  • Five-star raids: Yveltal, Xerneas
  • Mega Raids: Lopunny (Mega), Manectric (Mega)

Research and Collection Challenges

As with all events, players will be able to complete Field Research tasks for Stardust, Mega Energy, and Evolution Items. Trainers can also complete four different Collection Challenges focused on evolving Pokemon to earn more Evolution Items.

Mega Gyarados Raid Day

Midway through the event, Mega Gyarados Raid Day also begins on October 8 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

During this time, Mega Gyarados will appear more frequently in raids. You can receive up to five additional Raid Passes by spinning Gym Photo Discs. Also, you’ll have a better chance to encounter the elusive shiny Gyarados!

Evolution Cup

Lastly, the Evolving Stars marks the start of the Evolution Cup. In this cup, Pokemon must be at or below 1500 CP, and only Pokemon that have evolved at least once, and can still evolve again, will be eligible to compete.

Again, the Pokemon GO Evolving Stars event starts on October 5 at 10 a.m. local time and ends on October 11 at 8 p.m. local time.
