Trainers who have been around the Pokemon games since their inception will indeed be very familiar with Magneton, which first appeared during Generation I of Pokemon. Evolving from Magnemite, this powerful Electric magnet Pokemon has always been popular among fans.
After gaining its third form, Magnezone, in Generation IV, it has become a great choice for trainers looking to add some power or utility moves to their party. But with all the strange ways to evolve Pokemon, some trainers must wonder how to evolve Magneton in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Evolving Magneton into Magnezone in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
The first step towards getting this powerful magnet Pokemon is capturing a Magnemite. This is a fairly easy process; trainers can find them in the eastern region of Paldea in the East Province (Area Two) and East Province (Area Three).
Once encountering a Magnemite, weaken it before capturing it with a Pokeball. Once added to the party, battle with it, auto-battle, or feed it XP Candy to level it up to level 30. Upon reaching this threshold, a brief cutscene will play, and Magnemite will evolve into Magneton.
However, after reaching the second stage of evolution, it’s not as simple as just leveling this Pokemon to get it to progress to its final form. To make Magneton evolve into Magnezone, players will need to feed it a Thunder Stone.
Of course, this can be done the moment a player evolves it into Magnezone if they wish, or they can wait a bit and try out their new Magneton.
Either way, head to Delibird Presents in Mesagoza and grab a Thunder Stone for 3000 Pokedollars or 3000 LP. For those trainers who don’t want to shell out the Pokedollars, you can find a Thunder Stone on top of a Windmill in West Province (Area One). Once the Thunder Stone is in your inventory, select it, and use it on Magneton to evolve it immediately.
With your brand-new Magnezone, you can dominate any team who stands in your way by using its powerful electrical and status-effect-inducing moves.
