All Slime Ranchers on deck! Slime Rancher 2 is finally getting another content update, this time adding a whole new zone known as Powderfall Bluffs. If you equipped your vacpack and jumped into the early access version of the game, you’ve probably been waiting for more areas to unlock. Lucky for us, the developers of Slime Rancher, Monomi Park, just gave us an update on what to expect for the new content update coming up in the new year.
Slime Rancher 2 Content Update Release Date & Details
According to Slime Rancher 2’s official blog, Slime Rancher 2’s major content update will be available to players in early 2023. This content update will include the new winter biome called Powderfall Bluffs and new slimes, chickens, and crafting resources.
Powderfall Bluffs is off the coast of Ember Valley, and some unfinished areas can be viewable if you use the jetpack. When we receive the official word, we’ll update you with the exact drop date and time.
The update will also feature new slimes and chickens, including Saber Slimes. It will also include auroral anomalies scattered throughout the zone–a reference to aurora borealis, or the Northern lights, a phenomenon when the sky lights up in different colors in northern latitudes.
Monami Park’s Smart Update Approach
One last thing of note in the upcoming update is how Monami plans to roll out future updates for Slime Rancher 2. By providing larger, more content-focused updates, the developers are delivering more incentives for old players to come back and new players to pick up the game.
Rather than making small patches or adding small pieces of content over time, it looks like the developers of Slime Rancher 2 plan on working on and rolling out significant content updates to include new zones, new slimes, mechanics, resources, pens, and more in each update.
