Sons of the Forest: Where to Find the Pistol

Here's where to find the Pistol and Pistol Rail in Sons of the Forest.

There are a lot of mysterious and aggressive creatures in Sons of the Forest, so having a good weapon is one of the most important keys to your survival. While the bow and arrow is always a good option, nothing beats a trusty firearm. Here’s a quick guide on where to find the Pistol in Sons of the Forest.

Note that there are multiple starting locations, so there’s not an easy method to direct you to the raft based on your spawn. We’ll show you the map location below, so you should have no trouble finding it regardless.

Where to Find the Pistol in Sons of the Forest

The pistol is located in a raft floating in the ocean off the shore. Follow the river toward the purple marker on your GPS map, and you should see the raft in the water.

Before you head out to get the pistol, we recommend having some 9mm ammo or a bow and arrow and being well-fed with plenty of stamina. We also recommend placing a small camp so you can save your game in case you die.

You will need to swim out to the raft the old-fashioned way — no boats or anything to get you there safely. To make the journey even more challenging, a deadly shark is swimming in the water near the raft.

Not to worry, though — you can avoid the shark, or maybe take a hit or two, before hopping aboard the raft. You will find the pistol, some flares, an MRE, and maybe a few other minor items on the raft.

As a bonus, a nearby deceased person is holding a pistol rail in his hand. You can loot the pistol rail and combine it with the pistol in your inventory to improve the weapon. Both the pistol and the pistol rail will be located inside the black box in your inventory.

So there you have it; that’s where to find the pistol very early on in Sons of the Forest. The weapon should theoretically make your journey a little bit easier. Well, maybe. For more guides, visit our Sons of the Forest Section.
