Well, you might be missing a crucial item that will allow you to make it through some of the more challenging caves so you can acquire more loot and progress through the story. In this guide, we’ll show you where you can find the Rope Gun in Sons of the Forest, which will allow you to zipline across ropes.
Where to Find the Rope Gun in Sons of the Forest
The Rope Gun is an item found inside a cave near the Stun Baton. It is located inside of a black box toward the very end of the cave. You can find the exact location on the map from the in-game screenshot posted below.
It’s a pretty dangerous cave, so we’d recommend coming prepared with lots of food, a bow and arrow as well as a pistol, and lots of ammunition. It’s possible to avoid many of the creatures inside, but it will still be a challenging journey.
The Rope Gun is inside a black box at the very end of the cave. There will be a zipline immediately after the black box, which you need the Rope Gun for, so you can’t miss it. It will likely take you around 20 to 30 minutes to get through the full cave, so set aside enough time to clear it.
You will need the Rope Gun to get across the various ziplines found inside caves, one of which contains the shovel, so this is a necessary item to progress through the main story.
