Wild West Dynasty is an upcoming single-player open-world sandbox game that allows players to build a community in the American Frontier in the late 19th century.
If you’ve always wanted to be a bit more than just a gunslinger and dreamed of building up your own town in the Wild West, then the upcoming release of Wild West Dynasty should be on your radar. The upcoming game is being developed by Moon Punch Studio, the same company that brought us Medieval Dynasty, the settlement builder and action/adventure game. It is set to release on February 16, 2023.
Wild West Dynasty is a spiritual successor to the Medieval Dynasty with a similar core gameplay loop. Players are placed on a barren and desolate piece of land in the midwest and must build a homestead, manage their resources, and make tough decisions for the best of their community.
Unlike your typical city builder, there are also action/adventure RPG elements to the game. In addition to building a town, you’ll also be hunting for food and fending off bandits in the third person. The game is set in the Old West and accompanied by detailed landscapes with authentic period architecture, weapons, and characters. Players will encounter various challenges and dangers, including bandits, Native American tribes, and natural disasters.
Is Wild West Dynasty Worth Playing?
Even though a smaller indie studio is developing the game, it doesn’t mean that their games are without quality. Moon Punch Studio’s first game, Medieval Dynasty, was a sleeper hit that has maintained a “Very Positive” review rating on Steam among over 24,000 total reviews. People loved the settlement-building aspects of the game and its unique take on the genre.
Wild West Dynasty, as a spiritual successor, will be much of the same but set in a different period in history, the Wild West. If you’re into cowboys and loved Red Dead Redemption but always wish the farming part of Arthur’s journey was more customizable, then Wild West Dynasty might be the game you’ve been dreaming about.
Wild West Dynasty will be available on Steam when it releases on February 16, 2023.
