Xbox Game Pass: Arrivals and Departures for May 2022

These are all of the video games arriving on and departing from Xbox Game Pass in May 2022.

Game Pass remains one of the leading games-on-demand services in the gaming sector, making hundreds of titles accessible to Xbox and PC users worldwide. Players can download and play a rotation of titles as often as desired for a monthly fee. It’s hands down one of the best values in gaming for users who like to try out new titles.

While there is a core list of games on Xbox Game Pass, new games come and go every month, and it’s not always easy to keep track of them. Since we’re now diving into a new month, we’ve compiled a list of all the games arriving on and departing from Xbox Game Pass for May.

There’s not too much going on regarding new titles making their way to Xbox Game Pass. That’s not to say it’s all bad, though. Loot River is an action roguelike flying a bit under the radar since its release on May 3. It combines elements of Tetris-like puzzles with dungeon-crawler roguelite to make for a fresh experience. Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a single-player action RPG, a prequel to Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, set to release on May 10.

Citizen Sleeper is a choose your destiny cyberpunk RPG where players live as an escaped worker who ends up at a station on the edge of interstellar society. Trek to Yomi is another intriguing title, published by Devolver Digital and developed by Flying Wild Hog and Leonard Menchiari. The game is a side-scroller action-adventure that follows Hiroki, a young swordsman and lone samurai who vows to protect his town against all threats.

Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair needs no introduction, and it’s a journey, to say the least. A great cast and fun murder mystery gameplay make for a fun, and often dramatic, adventure if these types of games are your cup of tea. We also have This War of Mine, a classic war survival indie and one of the top-rated games on Steam. Lastly, Microsoft hasn’t forgotten about the sports fans with NHL 22.

Games leaving Xbox Game Pass in May

Here are all the games leaving Xbox Game Pass in May 2022:

  • Enter The Gungeon (PC, Xbox)
  • Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (PC, Xbox)
  • Remnant: From the Ashes (PC, Xbox)
  • Steep (Xbox)
  • The Catch: Carp and Coarse (PC, Xbox)
  • The Wild at Heart (PC, Xbox)

May 31

  • EA Sports NHL 20 (PC, Xbox)
  • Farming Simulator 19 (PC, Xbox)
  • Knockout City (PC, Xbox)
  • Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (PC, Xbox)
  • Spellforce 3: Soul Harvest (PC)
  • Superhot Mind Control Delete (PC, Xbox)
  • Yes Your Grace (PC, Xbox)

The toughest one to say goodbye to will be Enter The Gungeon. A roguelike and bullet hell classic from Dodge Roll and Devolver Digital, Enter the Gungeon holds an overwhelmingly positive consensus on Steam. If you’ve yet to play this gem, you need to get right on it. Add it to your game library while you’re at it.

Another title, and a personal favorite, we’re sad to see go is Remnant: From the Ashes. In all honesty, though, it’s worth every penny to pick up if not only to support Gunfire Games. They’ve created a unique souls-like action RPG here, and it’s something special in my book.

Those are all the games coming and going on Xbox Game Pass in May 2022. We’ll keep you posted next month for a new roundup of titles.
