How to Get Access to the XDefiant Closed Beta

If you want an XDefiant closed beta key but haven't been able to get one, this guide will show you a guaranteed method.

Update: As the Twitch method for obtaining an XDefiant Closed Beta key is expired, we’ve added another way to get a key using SteelSeries GG.

XDefiant is a free-to-play first-person arena shooter game developed and published by Ubisoft set in a near-future version of the United States. The game consists of team-based multiplayer across various maps and modes and is set to release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox One. XDefiant is currently undergoing its first Closed Beta Test as of April 17, and we have the information you need to know to gain access and start playing.

How to Get Access to the XDefiant Closed Beta

To get a key for the XDefiant Closed Beta, download and install the SteelSeries GG and click the “Get Key” button on the Giveaways tab. You can redeem the key on the Ubisoft XDefiant Code Redemption page and then download Ubisoft Connect to start playing.

Another way to access the XDefiant Closed Beta is by watching participating streamers on Twitch for at least 30 minutes between April 17 to April 19 at 7 p.m. CEST. A linked Twitch and Ubisoft account is required to earn the Twitch Drops.

Here’s how to link up your Twitch and Ubisoft accounts:

After watching a participating streamer on Twitch for 30 minutes, you should head to your Twitch Inventory and claim the reward. You’ll receive an email containing the code after claiming it from the Twitch Inventory page, and you can use that code on the Ubisoft Code Redemption page listed above.

Aside from access to the Closed Beta, the XDefiant Twitch Drops also include:

  • D50 “Violet” Weapon Skin – Watch a participating streamer for one hour
  • MK 20 SSR “Violet” Weapon Skin – Watch any streamer for one hour

The weapon skins can be obtained until April 23, while the Closed Beta codes are only given out in the first 48 hours of the event. There’s a full list of participating XDefiant streamers on the Ubisoft website if you have trouble finding someone to watch for a Twitch Drop.
