There are many pets players can equip on their heroes in Across the Obelisk. Some synergize very well with certain heroes, so you’ll probably want to start unlocking them during your playthroughs. In this guide, we’ll take a look at how to unlock all three beavers known as Champy, Chumpy, and Chompy in Across the Obelisk.
These three pets have similar effects but cater to different elements. Each offers frost resistance, but all three have different secondary passives and turn-based effects.
- Champy: +3% Frost and Piercing Resistance. Casts Palisade every two turns.
- Chumpy: +3% Frost and Lightning Resistance. Casts Downpour every two turns.
- Chompy: +3% Frost and Slashing Resistance. Casts Carp every two turns.
Unlocking all three pets is similar, but you’ll need to do it in three separate runs. Check the guide below for instructions on how to unlock each of them.
How to Unlock Champy, Chompy, and Chumpy in Across the Obelisk
Here’s how to unlock Champy, Chompy, and Chumpy in Across the Obelisk:
- Complete Act 1 and proceed to the Red portal.
- Navigate to the Goblin Caves in the Red area.
- Select the Combat option to kill the goblins.
- After defeating the goblins, you will receive a Small Log.
- Take the Small Log to the Island in the Blue Zone (required 1000 gold to pay for the boat).
- Defeat the beavers in combat, and select the Throw option to unlock the pets.
- Champy: The one carrying the axe.
- Chompy: The one carrying the harpoon.
- Chumpy: The one carrying the stick.
You will need to complete three acts to unlock the three beaver pets. To start, go through Act 1 as fast as you can, and then go to the Red portal. Inside the Red area, you’ll want to go to the Goblin Caves in the middle path.
At the Goblin Caves, select the Combat option, win the battle, and you will obtain an item called Small Log. Now, you need to finish the act and take the Small Log to the Blue area.
Once in the Blue area, navigate to the Harbor event space on the bottom path. You will need 1000 gold to pay for the boat, which will take you to the Island zone.
At the Island zone, select the Combat option to go into battle against the beavers. After defeating the beavers, you can select the option to throw the small log near one of the beavers.
The beaver you choose influences which pet you will unlock. Here are the options:
- Champy: You throw the small log near one of the three beavers, the one carrying the axe.
- Chompy: You throw the small log near one of the three beavers, the one carrying the harpoon.
- Chumpy: You throw the small log near one of the three beavers, the one carrying the stick.
You will need to repeat this process two more times, choosing a different Throw option to unlock all three beaver pets.
