If you want to level up your game in MultiVersus, you need to take every advantage you can get to synergize with your teammate. One of the core principles in MultiVersus is the Perks system. Here’s everything you need to know about Perks in MultiVersus, and our best perks list.
What are Perks in MultiVersus?
Perks are special buffs you can choose for each character in MultiVersus. You gain Perk slots as you play more matches with any character. Each character’s progression unlocks different perks suited to the character. When both players on a team select the same perk, that perk stacks and creates an even more powerful buff for the team.
Signature Perks buff a character’s special moves and only apply to that character. Signature Perks are unlocked at level 8.
How to Train Perks in MultiVersus
Here’s how to train perks in MultiVersus:
- Tap Collection on the left side of the home screen.
- Tap any level 9 character.
- Hit the Train Perks button.
- Select the Perk you want, then click the Train Perk button.
- Select the Perks you want for each slot above the Train Perks button on the character screen.
To train Perks in MultiVersus tap the Collection button the left side of the screen, click any level 9 character, then hit the Train Perks button. Select the Perk you want, then hit the Train Perk button.
Once you reach level 9 with any character, you can train Perks. Training your character’s Perks in MultiVersus means you can spend 150 coins for any perk available to characters.
By selecting the Perks you want in each slot on the character screen, you won’t have to manually select the Perks the next time you choose that character for a game.
You can also train the Perks gained by other characters in the MultiVersus roster for a 50 coin discount. So, let’s say you unlocked an Arya Stark Perk. You’d now be able to train that perk for the other level 9 characters you’ve unlocked for only 100 coins.
Best Perks in MultiVersus for All Characters
Your playstyle determines the best Perks for any given character. We’ve broken the following down into categories that can apply to any character in the game. Keep in mind that this list is broad, and these Perks may not end up fitting your playstyle.
Best Perks for Ranged Assassins and Brawlers in MultiVersus
Offense:
- Make it Rain, Dog!: Your team receives 20% increased projectile speed.
- Deadshot: Your team deals 5% increased damage with projectiles.
Defense:
- Boundless Energy: Your team receives a 10% faster dodge invulnerability recharge.
- Kryptonian Skin: Your team receives 4% reduced incoming damage.
Utility:
- Coffeezilla: Your team receives a 10% reduced ability cooldown duration.
- Retaliation-Ready: Your team grants allies 3 gray health for 3 seconds after knocking back enemies with projectiles.
These perks are for you if you like to stay at range and spam attacks to chip down the enemy team. Offensively, you’ll want to focus on doing the most nuke damage possible so your teammate can ring out the opponent.
On defense, you’ll want to focus on survivability since part of the match will be spent trying to kite away the opponents. On Utility, you can either spam your moves more often (increasing your damage output) or improve the team’s overall survivability.
Best Perks for Melee Assassins and Brawlers in MultiVersus
Offense:
- Wildcat Brawler: Your team does 5% increased damage with melee attacks on the ground.
- Lumpy Space Punch: Your team does 5% increased damage with melee attacks in the air.
Defense:
- Slippery Customer: Your team receives a 10% longer dodge invulnerability window.
- Kryptonian Skin: Your team receives 4% reduced incoming damage.
Utility:
- Triple Jump: Your team receives an extra jump while hitting the enemy in the air.
- Speed Force Assist: Your team receives a 4% increase in base movement speed.
Again, this list is highly dependent on your playstyle. If you prefer to do a lot of ariels to damage your opponents, you’ll want to use Lumpy Space Punch over Wildcat Brawler, and vice versa. Triple Jump is a key Utility Perk that you’ll want to get so you can juggle your enemy and improve your own survivability.
Best Perks for Tanks in MultiVersus
Offense:
- I’ll Take That: Your team receives a .5 second refund on ability cooldowns after hitting debuffed enemies.
- Snowball Effect: Your team does 7% increased damage against the player with the highest damage.
Defense:
- Kryptonian Skin: Your team receives 4% reduced incoming damage.
- School Me Once: Your team receives a projectile block buff for 2 seconds after being knocked back by a projectile.
Utility:
- Last Stand: Your team deals 10% increased damage after reaching 100 damage.
- I Dodge, You Dodge, We Dodge: Your team receives a 10% ability cooldown refund after dodging an attack.
As a tank, you’ll want to improve your overall survivability. Last stand is an interesting Perk that can temporarily increase damage output significantly after you’ve been damaged to 100.
Best Perks for Support in MultiVersus
Offense:
- Ice to Beat You!: Your team’s projectiles deal 1 stack of ice if they knock enemies back.
- That’s Flammable, Doc!: For 3 seconds after knocking an enemy back with a projectile, your team can melee attack that enemy to ignite them for 1 second.
Defense:
- Kryptonian Skin: Your team receives 4% reduced incoming damage.
- Back to Back: Your team receives 6% reduced damage when near an ally.
Utility:
- Coffezilla: Your team receives a 10% reduced ability cooldown duration.
- Triple Jump: Your team receives an extra jump while hitting the enemy in the air.
As a support, you’ll want to select Perks that enhance your allies. If you are not using any projectiles, you’ll want to select different offensive Perks than the ones listed.
Keep in mind that this list is for current Perks. We’ll keep this post updated as the game updates and more Perks are released.
