In Overwatch 2, a new bug has been discovered that causes Sombra to become invincible. This bug is similar to a bug that was discovered in Overwatch last year that caused Sombra to become invincible when she used her translocator to teleport while her hack was active. That bug was eventually fixed by Blizzard. Here’s what we know about the new Overwatch 2 Sombra bug that makes her literally unstoppable.
What is the Overwatch 2 Sombra Bug?
The user Savvy discovered the bug originally on Twitter. The Sombra bug occurs when she uses her translocator to teleport inside the payload while her invisibility is active. When this happens, Sombra will become invincible due to being inside the payload, yet she can still fire out of the payload and damage her foes. This could be very frustrating to players who have to play against the already powerful Sombra.
This bug is clearly an unintentional use of Sombra’s ability, but it’s possible that Blizzard may already be aware of it and is working on a fix. In the meantime, players who encounter this bug should report it to Blizzard so that they can investigate and resolve the issue.
Bugs Have Plagued Overwatch 2 since the Recent Launch
Overwatch 2 has seen its share of bugs since the game was released earlier this month. From being unable to select unlocked heroes to long queue times and DDoS attacks, players have had to go up against several bugs and other broken parts of the game.
Even characters such as Bastion and Torbjorn have had issues since release–with Bastion even being completely removed from the game. While it is unclear when Bastion will return to the game following his broken ultimate, perhaps Sombra will be the next to be temporarily suspended from the roster until her ability can be fixed.
While we don’t support replicating the bug, especially in competitive mode, you can see user Savvy demonstrate it in this Tweet.
