A common predator in Pharaoh: A New Era is the crocodile, and it can wipe out your population if you let them. Here’s how to get rid of them.
When old games get rebooted, sometimes certain QoL or mechanics get lost in translation. In Pharaoh: A New Era, there are predators on some maps, like Hyenas and Crocodiles, but destroying them isn’t straightforward. Here’s how to kill the crocodiles in the game.
How to Kill Crocodiles in Pharaoh A New Era
Crocodiles and other predators are present on different maps in the game and will eliminate settlers that cross their path. Currently, there is no way to kill crocodiles in Pharaoh: A New Era. However, players can eliminate them from the map by navigating to the settings menu and switching Predators to No. This option will destroy all the predators on the map, even if you’re in the middle of a playthrough.
In the original Pharaoh, building Police Stations would enable Constables to destroy the crocs. However, we tested it ourselves, and when the crocs target a Constable, they kill them. We also experimented with building military installations next to the crocs, but our archers and spearmen ignored them.
In addition, there is no wall option on some maps, so walling them in, like in the old game, won’t work either.
We realize this is somewhat of a lackluster solution and one that the developers of the game, Triskell Interactive, may hopefully fix in the future.
