Sandwiches are an integral part of the Paldea region of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, and this is evident from the moment your Mom gives you that first sandwich upon starting the game. With the sandwich being used to befriend the mighty Koraidon and Miraidon, depending on the version, players will surely want to be able to make more.

While previously, players could make special Pokemon Curries, in this Generation, the minigame for food will revolve around making some pretty strange and sometimes tasty sandwiches. But how do you create these sandwiches, and what exactly are they used for? Read on to find out.

Making Sandwiches in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Making sandwiches in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is easy. Locate a picnic table in the region, and walk up to start the minigame by interacting with it. Players will first need to find some ingredients. Ingredients can be found in various shops across the region, and these ingredients can be purchased for Pokedollars.

If you don’t wish to shell out cash for these ingredients, you will find NPCs standing nearby picnic tables around the Paldea region, and the first time they are spoken to, they will give you ingredients to make a sandwich.

You can even make your own picnic spot in the game by finding a nice flat area for a picnic and opening the menu to select the Picnic option. Picnics also let you spend quality time with your Pokemon team.

Becoming a Sandwich Maker

Once you have chosen the perfect picnic spot, interact with your picnic table to select from the option to Make a Sandwich. You can now choose between recipes you know, or try your luck building a sandwich from scratch.

After selecting an option, you will join the wacky sandwich minigame, where you need to lay down your ingredients on the sandwich to craft it. The strange physics of the sandwich can make it a little hard to balance the ingredients, so carefully selecting where you place one is paramount. You can’t move the ingredient once it’s placed.

When you are all done making a sandwich, you will be scored on your work and find out what meal powers you gain from the sandwich. While freestyling a sandwich can be fun, you won’t know what bonuses you receive until it’s done.
