If The Scan mission in Scars Above confuses you, don’t worry, you’re not alone. This guide will cover exactly what you must do to assemble the high voltage device.
In Scars Above, players assume the role of Kate, an astronaut and scientist tasked with exploring the mysterious Exoplanet called The Metahedron. One of the very first problems and quests in the game is called The Scan, which tasks players with constructing a high voltage device.
How to Complete The Scan Quest in Scars Above
Players must assemble the high voltage device at the lab to assist Mike. To complete the quest, follow the markers to obtain the different parts of the gun, assemble it at the station, adjust the power source frequency, and calibrate the voltage.
If this sounds too complex, follow our guide below for easy assembly.
Assemble the high voltage device at the lab
Head to the Equipment Room to gather the SLD-26 Welder, then interact with the 3D printer on the desk to craft the Rail Module. Each piece of the high voltage device will be marked in the game, so if you can’t find the room just follow the markers.
Assembling the gun, adjusting power frequency, and calibrating the voltage for the high voltage device will be the most challenging part of this quest. Walk over to the assembly desk in the room you were in with Mike. Interact with the mat, select the Rail Module and Welder, and interact with the mat again to connect them.
Next, you’ll need to access the small battery in the top left of the screen and place it in the small module connected to the laptop. Interact with the laptop, then use the W and S keys to change the right slider and A and D to adjust the bottom slider. The goal is to get both the green and orange frequencies to match.
The last thing players will need to do is calibrate the output voltage by hitting E when the red lines pass into the yellow rectangles. This requires some level of timing, but you’ll be able to restart if you mess up.
This quest eases players into some of the crafting mechanics and puzzles in the game. If you have trouble with it, don’t sweat it because some aspects aren’t straightforward.
