Skull and Bones Faces More Delays

Will our pirate dreams ever become a reality?

Gamers looking to head off and sail the seven seas will need to wait a bit longer to play the pirate-themed adventure game Skull and Bones. A delay was announced for the game by developer Ubisoft in an official statement stating that the game would now be delayed until March 23, 2023.

While it is not unusual for games to be delayed during their development, Skull and Bones has had a nearly unprecedented amount of delays, five to be exact, since its original release time frame of 2018.

Why is Skull and Bones Delayed Again?

According to Ubisoft, Skull and Bones has been delayed due to wanting to take some more added time to polish the game. The official statement from Ubisoft reads:

“Our team is hard at work polishing and balancing the experience ahead of the worldwide launch. As a result, we’ve made the tough decision to move our release date to March 9, 2023.”

While this news may be disappointing for players who were looking forward to playing the game this year for a November 8, 2022 release, they will hopefully be able to get their hands on the game when it releases early next year.

In addition to this news, Ubisoft also mentioned that there would be an open beta for Skull and Bones for players to help test the game before its official release. With the additional help from running the beta test, fans can be hopeful that this long-awaited game will live up to the expectations and hype when it makes it out onto store shelves in 2023.
