One of the most fun aspects of Slime Rancher 2 is exploring the different areas of the map and finding new and unique Slimes. If you’re starting in Slime Rancher 2 and want to explore more of the map, you’ll need to unlock these special areas before traveling to them. Naturally, you’ll probably choose whether to explore north or south of Rainbow island. How to Unlock Starlight Strand in Slime Rancher 2
To unlock Starlight Strand, or the southern island in Slime Rancher 2, feed Carrots or Water Lettuce to the giant Cotton Gordo. Then, head down into the unlocked burrow and interact with the lamp at the end of the tunnel. This will open a portal on Rainbow Island that you can take to Starlight Strand.
Once you do this, it will likely unleash some Tar Slimes in the area, so be on the lookout.
Travel through the cave entrance marked on the map below, then cross over the bridge to the portal to get to Starlight Strand.
Once you enter Starlight Strand, you’ll gain access to new Slimes and resources, like Buzz Wax, that you can get from bee nests found in Starlight Strand. Building a Home Portal will help you travel across these long distances faster. These resources are necessary for important upgrades that will advance you through the storyline in the game.
