Smalland: Survive the Wilds released into Early Access on Steam on March 29, 2023, and the game’s developers, Merge Games, are already working on updates. Here are the patch notes for Patch #1, Build 0.2.5.
Now that there is an Early Access version of Smalland on Steam, the developers are already working to improve the game and add more content. One of the big things the game added was a highly-requested feature, a manual save option.
If you’ve played Smalland for any amount of time, you’ll know that there was no “save” button. Occasionally (and seemingly randomly), at the bottom of the screen, it would flash an autosave message, but quitting the game always felt like a risk.
To be fair, throughout our playtime, the game always autosaved before we quit it. We never really had an issue with losing items or getting set back in progress, so this addition might be more for the gamer’s emotional well-being rather than something that’s necessary.
Other changes in the update include bug fixes, server modifier options, network improvements, and a curved railing (you builders out there will know why this was important). On the bug fix front, they’ve fixed floating Tombstones, something quite a few players have complained about.
Players can report bugs and other issues to the developers in the Steam Community Forums. To see a list of the full patch notes, see below.
