Smalland Survive the Wilds: How to Heal

Ouch, that hurts.

If you want to survive in Smalland: Survive the Wilds, you must learn how to heal yourself in the game. Here’s what you need to know.

As you take on bigger and more powerful enemies in Smalland, it’s natural you’ll be asking yourself how you can heal your HP. Like many other games in the survival genre, there are more ways than one to repair and rehab your body.

How to Heal in Smalland: Survive the Wilds

The two main ways players can heal in Smalland is by either applying a healing item, like a Bandage or Health Elixer, or gaining health slowly over time by filling the blue Nourishment bar up to the line. To apply a healing item, open your inventory and click and drag it to a hotkey slot, then hit that hotkey to use it. Alternatively, you can right-click the healing item in your inventory to apply one.

How to Craft Healing Items

Healing items can be crafted on a Workbench or Apothecary Table. Initially, players will have access to a Simple Bandage that requires 3 Fiber to craft. To craft a bandage, walk up to the Workbench and hit the F key. Then, left-click Simple Bandage on the left side of the screen to craft one.

Later, as players discover new materials and defeat new enemies, they will unlock more powerful healing items that will help them throughout their playthrough. One such example is called a Healing Patch, which can be constructed by collecting Fiber and Honey Crumble from Bees around the world.

Once players gain access to the Apothecary Table, powerful potions like Lesser Health Elixir and Health Elixir provide even more healing potential.

Gaining a Passive Heal through Nourishment

Nourishment is the blue bar that is under your health bar and indicates how well-fed your character is. Once the bar reaches the line, you’ll gain a slow passive heal. For this reason, it’s a smart idea to keep a steady supply of food with you so that you can stay at 100 HP at all times.

To get food in the game, you’ll need to learn recipes at the Campfire or Cauldron.
