Soulstone Survivor has a lot of different skill modifiers and power-ups, so much so that it can be a little overwhelming figuring out how all of them work. One of the more confusing modifiers is “negative effects,” which are basically status ailments. In this guide, we’ll go over all of the negative effects and synergy power-ups in Soulstone Survivors.
Learn more about how to maximize Negative Effects using the Synergetic Rune.

Negative Effects Synergy Builds
You can think of all the synergy power-ups, sans Brutal Strikes and Expose Weakness, as a carousel. By getting Thermal Shock, you have a chance to apply Slow, and by having Hypothermia, that Slow has a chance to apply Fragility, which has a chance to activate Gangrene and apply Bleed, and so forth.
A “negative effects build” aims to complete the circle and have all of the power-ups for maximum synergy. Chaos Skills are great because they have a chance to apply a random powerful Negative Effect on the enemy. Chromatic Bolt is also good, as it’s a skill that has every spell-type attached to it, including Chaos. On top of that, you should also run the Synergetic, Controlled Chaos, and Executioner Runes:
- Synergetic: Increases chance of getting synergy power-ups and chance of synergies happening by 20%.
- Controlled Chaos: Abilities that deal random damage have the damage rolled, and the highest damage roll is chosen.
- Executioner: Enemies take 5% extra damage per different types of negative effects on them.
