Alright, so you’ve finally climbed out of the dregs and are looking to equip the new shiny gear you’ve got from completing your class-specific Penance. Or, maybe, you’re tired of running the default weapon and looking to spend a few Ordo on a new Lasgun from the Armory Exchange. Well, we’ve got good news for you. Equipping new equipment in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is easy and requires a few clicks.
At level 8, all players unlock another slot for Curios or off-hand weapons that provide buffs to your character, and at level 30, you’ll earn Trinkets or cosmetics that you can equip to change the appearance of weapons.
Equipping Weapons and Cosmetics in Darktide
Equipping weapons only requires a few button presses. Access the main menu screen, then click Operative. From this screen, you’ll be able to equip new Primary Weapons, Secondary Weapons, and Curios. Click the Cosmetics tab to equip the different cosmetics you have.
You can also use this screen to sell old weapons for additional Ordo.
To equip a new weapon, simply click the weapon slot and slot the new weapon or cosmetic. Once in the weapon slot screen, you can sort your weapons by Name or Rarity using the filter at the bottom of the window.
In Warhammer 40K: Darktide, inspecting weapons shows you the weapon’s combos and skills. This will be important as you level up and acquire more powerful gear, even if it feels like most combos are pretty straightforward.
How to Equip Trinkets in Darktide
Players begin earning Trinkets for missions in Darktide at level 30. Trinkets are cosmetics that you can apply to certain weapons to give them a unique look. This is a great way to set yourself apart from the rest of your squad. To apply Trinkets in Darktide:
- Go to the main menu screen and click Operative.
- Click the weapon slot that you want to apply the Trinket to.
- Click the piece of equipment, then hit the C or Appearance key.
- Apply your new Trinket!
The Trinket screen is a bit hidden, and since you don’t unlock it until late into the game, it makes sense if you didn’t even know it existed.
