Wild Hearts: How to Build a Workbench

Here's how to build a workbench in Wild Hearts, so you can forge your first new weapon and better equipment.

After hunting down your first kemono in Wild Hearts, you’ll need to craft yourself a workbench so you can get some better weapons. If you’re still trying to figure out how to build things for your camp, we’re here to help. Here’s a quick rundown on how to build a workbench, or a field forge, for your camp in Wild Hearts.

How to Build a Workbench in Wild Hearts

To build a workbench, you’ll first need to unlock it in the Karakuri menu. Open up the info screen, go to the Karakuri tab, and select Field Forge to unlock it. Next, go to your camp at the unblocked Dragon Pit area in the Giant Tree Trunk Camp, and open up your dragon Karakuri menu to build the Field Forge. Place it anywhere, and then speak with Natsume to do some forging.

Forge Weapons in Wild Hearts

You can forge a weapon, forge armor, or change your current equipment at the Field Forge. To start, you’ll be able to choose from a few different weapon types, including Karakuri Katana, Nodachi, Bow, Maul, and Bladed Wagasa. As you progress through the game, there are a few other weapon types to unlock. All of the starter weapons require one Corestone and some Gold, and at this point, you should have enough materials to craft whatever you want, so pick whatever suits your playstyle.

From the weapon menu, you can click on your weapon to further enhance it with upgrades. You should be able to afford one of the first enhancements when you’re back in camp. Remember to craft yourself whatever basic armor you can afford, as well, because they will provide pretty nice stat upgrades compared to the basic stuff you have equipped.
