Diablo 3’s Season 28, Rites of Sanctuary, has proven to be one of the best seasons for the game yet. The introduction of the Altar of Rites adds some replayability to the game and lots of quality-of-life features that make grinding to Greater Rift 150 quicker and more enjoyable and possible for a variety of classes and builds. Here’s what we know about the Diablo 3 Season 28 end date.
When is the Diablo 3 Season 28 End Date?
Blizzard has not yet announced an official end date for Diablo 3, Season 28. However, given the previous Season cycles, we estimate that Season 28 will end around Sunday, August 20, 2023. That is roughly 25 weeks and two days from the start of Diablo 3, Season 28, which began on February 24, 2023.
We assume Season 28 has a similar runtime to Season 27, which ran for approximately 25 weeks and two days. Blizzard is busy working on releasing Diablo 4 in the coming months, and it officially drops on June 6, 2023, so we anticipate Diablo 3 will not be a priority during this time.
Note that our Diablo 3 Season 28 end date is only an estimate, and we will update this post when we get official word from Blizzard on the current season.
Previous Diablo 3 Season Schedule:
- Season 22: November 20, 2020, to March 28, 2021 (18 weeks)
- Season 23: April 2, 2021, to July 18, 2021 (15 weeks)
- Season 24: July 23, 2021, to December 5, 2021 (19 weeks)
- Season 25: December 10, 2021, to April 10, 2022 (17 weeks)
- Season 26: April 15, 2022, to August 21, 2022 (18 weeks)
- Season 27: August 26, 2022, to February 19, 2023 (25 weeks)
We can see the previous season, Season 27, ramped up in length. That’s likely due to a few things: developing and integrating the Altar of Rites and new seasonal features and focusing resources on Diablo 4 to ready the game for release. Earlier seasons typically averaged around three months in length.
