Minecraft Legends is a new action strategy game from Mojang Studios based in the Minecraft universe. Players can explore various biomes in the world, collect resources, and amass an army to battle piglins or other players to save the Overworld. If you want to hop into a match with friends and play Minecraft Legends multiplayer, here’s what you need to know.
How to Play Minecraft Legends Multiplayer With Friends
Currently, the only way to team up with your friends and play against other people is to create a public multiplayer game and have your friends join so they end up on your team. The issue is that there is no team switch option in Public Versus Mode, so you’ll need to communicate with your friends and have them join after another player to end up on your team.
In Public Versus Mode, at least six players are required to start the match — three on the Blue Team and three on the Orange Team. The maximum player limit is eight for a four-versus-four battle, but the match will automatically start a one-minute countdown when six players are in the lobby. The first player to join the game after the host is assigned to the Orange Team and the second player is assigned to the Blue Team. You can communicate with your friends to let them know when to join so they end up on your team.
It’s a very convoluted way to get online multiplayer working, as there is no team selection process for Public Versus Mode. Why there’s no option for this is mind-boggling, but for now, this is how to play Minecraft Legends Multiplayer with friends. Another option is to host a practice game, where you and your friends and learn how to play against a computer-controlled base. There is a way to swap teams in practice matches.
Keep in mind this was written on day one of the launches, so things will likely change in the future to improve the multiplayer experience. We’ll update this post if things change regarding Minecraft Legends Multiplayer.
