Marvel Snap is a card battler game, and if you want to raise the stakes, you can SNAP on your opponent. The feature adds an interesting aspect to the game, where, like Poker, you can bluff your opponent into thinking your hand is a lot stronger than it is. Here’s how to Snap in Marvel Snap and how it works.
Marvel Snap is not only about deckbuilding but also knowing how to game the ranking system. Due to the Snap mechanic, it’s possible to have a very low win percentage yet still move up in the ranks. Of course, the opposite is also true — you can win a lot but not know how to Snap properly and move down in the ranks. To climb to Infinity rank, you’ll need to learn how to Snap.
What Does Snap Do in Marvel Snap?
Activating Snap in Marvel Snap allows you to double the stakes and earn 2, 4, or 8 Cosmic Cubes in a single game. If you feel confident you will win a battle, you can Snap to double the stakes.
How to Snap in Marvel Snap
To Snap in Marvel Snap, click the Cosmic Cube at the top of the screen. Each player can do this once per match, which maxes out the Cosmic Cube reward to eight. That means when both players Snap, playing out the game will result in the winning player gaining eight Cosmic Cubes and the other player losing eight.
Sounds easy, but it’s actually a lot deeper than it appears. Knowing when to Snap and whether or not you should retreat from an opponent who Snaps comes down to game knowledge. Learning all the cards and possible endgame scenarios is key, and that knowledge often comes from playing the game.
Certain Pool 1 cards like Klaw, Shang-Chi, and Doctor Doom can be great for surprising opponents on the last turn. Tricking an opponent into thinking you’re weaker than you are is a good strategy for making the most out of a Snap. For that reason, the best decks in Marvel Snap are often slower decks that give the illusion of being weak. Decks that are 3-cost card-heavy (Cerebro) are also great for this strategy.
When an opponent Snaps, you should look at the board and analyze the situation. Do you have some tricks up your sleeve that can win the game for you? If not, consider retreating and losing one Cube instead of risking eight. If you’re not 100% confident, it’s probably a smarter decision to retreat and move on to the next game.
At the lower ranks, much of what we covered here may not apply, as players are more willing to Snap for no reason. However, in the higher ranks, you’ll likely want to retreat when your opponent Snaps unless you think they’re bluffing or you have a solid strategy to win the game.
