Mechabellum is a new auto-battler game available on Steam, where players can face off head-to-head or in teams of 2v2. Set to release into early access on May 11, 2023, here’s what you need to know about the upcoming title.
What is Mechabellum?
Developed by Game River and published by Paradox Arc, Mechabellum is a mech-based auto battler where players can participate in 1v1 or 2v2 matchups. In Mechabellum, players gain access to the same set of units and can customize their builds by researching new technology and upgrading unit types. Players have a pool of points, which is reduced based on how many enemy units remain alive on the board at the end of each round.
Mechabellum departs from most other auto-battler games because units in Mechabellum often come in squads or large-sized mechs, creating an epic display of different unit types on the game board. Like other auto-battlers, players also gain access to unique items they can equip to specific units. Players also have the ability to research four unique upgrades per unit.

What is the Story in Mechabellum?
Taking place on the newly colonized planet of the Far-Away, players assume the role of a Commander that oversees an army of mechs. Created by an indie developer, Mechabellum is more focused on high-intensity PvP combat than it is a storyline.
Like most auto battler games, the key is finding the right team and unit synergies and choosing the right upgrades after each round.
Players can now join the test servers on the Mechabellum Steam Page.
