How to Get Companions in Mount and Blade Bannerlord

To get Companions in Mount and Blade Bannerlord, visit the Tavern in major Towns and talk to any Wanderers there. Speak to the Wanderer and recruit them for a set amount of Denars. See below for a step-by-step guide and more in-depth details.

To get Companions in Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord:

  1. Visit a Town and click Go to the tavern district
  2. Click the portrait of the Companion at the top of the screen. 
  3. Select Talk. Respond positively to the Wanderer if you want them in your party. 
  4. Click the option to recruit the Wanderer. It will usually cost you some Denars.

Finding Specific Companions in Bannerlord 

Companions in Mount and Blade Bannerlord are found all over the map of Calradia in the Tavern of major cities. 

To find specific Companions in Bannerlord:

  1. Hit the N key to bring up the Encyclopedia.
  2. Click Heroes
  3. Select the Wanderer check box on the left side of the screen. 
  4. Click the Wanderer you want to add to your party as a companion.
  5. Look at the top right of the information panel to see where the Wanderer was last seen
  6. Click the title of the Town, then click the circle above Track to show the location on the main campaign map. 

If there is no one at the Tavern, there is no Wanderer currently eligible for recruitment in the Town. 

How to Assign Companion Roles

Companions can also be given roles that enhance your party and provides special buffs. These buffs’ power is dictated by the character level for that particular skill. 

To assign Companion Roles in Mount and Blade Bannerlord:

  1. Click the Clan button in the bottom left corner of the screen. 
  2. Select Parties at the top of the screen. 
  3. Click the portrait under Assignees
  4. Select the Companion you want for the Role

The current companion roles include: 

  • Quartermaster (Steward): Increases party size. 
  • Scout (Scouting): Increases track detection radius, enables detection in greater track difficulties, increases spotting distance, and increases track information. 
  • Surgeon (Medicine): Increases casualty survival chance and increases the healing rate for troops and heroes. 
  • Engineer (Engineering): Increases the build time for siege equipment. 

Mount and Blade Bannerlord Companions List

Companion names in Mount and Blade Bannerlord are auto-generated, but the suffixes dictate the Skills and Traits of the Hero.
