As you progress through the game in Smalland, you’ll eventually need to start collecting stronger resources to forge better equipment. Flint is the next step after Stone, but it’s possible you haven’t seen this resource yet. Here’s our guide on where to get Flint in Smalland Survive the Wilds.
Where to Get Flint in Smalland
Flint can be mined from Flint Nodes located on the shores in the southern portion of the map. A Mandibular Pickaxe is required to mine Flint. There are various places to find Flint, but we’d recommend heading to the southern shores first, just south of Skadi, who is the second NPC you’ll meet in the game.
Flint can also be found in the Graylands northwest of the starting area. You can find Flint nodes scattered throughout this area, but the first time you reach this zone will likely be when you need to visit Mirmek in the northern part of the map.
Any area on the map with similar terrain will probably contain Flint.
As a word of caution, the insects here are a step up from the insects in the forest in terms of health points and damage output. We recommend coming out here with a few bandages and enough food to regenerate your health continuously. However, if you’re playing on Peaceful mode, you’re free to run up here and grab some Flint without any hassle.
Flint is an important resource in Smalland — you’ll need Flint to craft Flint Sheers for Silk, Flint Arrows, and a variety of other Flint-based equipment, which is more or less the next tier after Stone.
