Since the release of Vampire Survivors, a game that took inspiration from Magic Survival, dozens of clones have aimed to capitalize on the newfound success of the genre. One of the better games in this niche that was recently released is Soulstone Survivors, a game from a small team of developers known as Game Smithing.
According to their website, Game Smithing consists of two people: programmer and game designer Allan Smith and artist and game designer Alex Sandro Marinho.
What is Soulstone Survivors?
Soulstone Survivors is a new fast-paced action roguelite available on PC. Players pick from one of over a dozen characters and destroy incoming hordes of corrupted souls and Lords of the Void. Each playthrough can be anywhere from five minutes to many hours, depending on how well you can build your character.
During each run, players collect resources that are used to upgrade various global skills that are persistent on death. The resources are also used to unlock new characters and upgrade character weapons. Each weapon has a unique skill attached to it, allowing for more variable builds. The game’s Endless Cycle mode allows for an infinitely scalable challenge, with unlockable rewards for those who progress far enough.
In terms of action roguelite survival games, Soulstone Survivors is undoubtedly one of the most innovative takes on the genre we’ve seen to date. Each character has a unique playstyle, and while some skills are shared between all classes, there are many builds to try out. Theorycrafting a build to get you through the high-tier Endless Cycles is all part of the fun.

Is Soulstone Survivors Worth it?
In our opinion, the game is easily worth its $9.99 price tag on Steam, and fans can even spring for the $11.68 version that includes the soundtrack, which is also pretty killer.
