Total War Warhammer 3 fans awaiting any scrap of news are in luck. The developers recently posted an updated blog, revealing the massive scale of the upcoming update for Total War Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map. Here’s everything we learned from the update.
The Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires Map is Massive
Massive is an understatement. The Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map spans the geography of all 3 games in the series, The Old World, Eye of the Vortex, and Realms of Chaos. From the Eastern Steppes to the Vampire Coast, this is the most extensive Total War map ever created. The developers were sure to point out how challenging such an endeavor actually is:
“It’s also worth remembering that the Immortal Empires campaign map isn’t a simple ‘stitch and fit’ job. The Old World, Eye of the Vortex, and Realms of Chaos campaign maps are designed to be unique, standalone experiences. Simply put: they’re different shapes and sizes that don’t ‘fit together’ like a jigsaw puzzle.”

It sounds like to us that the devs are priming themselves for the potential bugs that will occur on such an ambitious project like this. See the full map below:
Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires Map Reveals the Most Starting Races Ever
In addition to the most extensive map, Immortal Empires will live up to the hype regarding starting races and Legendary Lords. The game boasts even more races and Lords than we expected from the teaser announcements. Here’s the complete list of all the enhancements in the new campaign:
Mortal Empires | Immortal Empires | |
Settlements | 401 | 554 |
Starting Factions | 183 | 278 |
Legendary Lords | 74 | 86 |
Immortal Empires Makes Sea Travel Better
One of the least enjoyable aspects in the Total War Warhammer series has always been sea travel. While it at times is more straightforward than traversing an awkward path on land, it’s never been enjoyable, even with custom sea battles. Luckily, the devs are creating sea routes, which should make sailing over the choppy waters of The Great Ocean much more functional.
