The new Phasmophobia Tempest update brought a lot of new things for investigators to check out in the world, but perhaps the biggest addition is the new holiday event. The holiday event tasks players with leaving some holiday cookies for a spooky Santa Claus ghost that will hunt them down to destroy them once he’s full (thanks a lot, Santa).
If you’re having trouble completing the quest, we’ll explain exactly how you can do it in our guide below. To help you, make sure to check out our Phasmophobia Holiday Cookie Locations guide for an easy way to locate all the cookies in the game.
How to Complete the Holiday Event in Phasmophobia
The holiday event in Phasmophobia tasks players with collecting 6 holiday cookies strewn across the map. Only investigations marked with a holiday pine tree are eligible for the holiday cookie quest.
Cookies can be found in the following locations:
- Bleasdale
- Edgefield
- Grafton
- Ridgeview
- Tanglewood
- Willow
- Woodwind
To complete the holiday mission, you must first figure out the ghost type. If you don’t guess the ghost type correctly, you’ll fail the mission and won’t get awarded credit for the holiday quest. Players should attempt to collect all 6 cookies first, then grab the plate from the truck instead of focusing on the cookies immediately upon entering the investigation.
Place the plate inside of the ghost room once you’ve identified its type and put the cookies on the plate, then quickly run out of the room. Once the ghost devours the cookies, you’ll hear it, along with some holiday bells.
The Santa Claus Ghost will start a hunt, so it’s time to run away unless you want to get caught. If you complete the mission successfully, the weather outside will change and start to snow.
If you’ve done all the above but the ghost doesn’t take your cookies, see below for some common issues.
Why Isn’t the Ghost Eating the Cookies?
Here are a few common issues players have encountered when trying to complete the holiday event in the new Phasmophobia Tempest update.
- It may take a few minutes for the ghost to eat the cookies, so it might be a smart idea to leave the house and just wait until you hear the audio cue and the weather changes.
- Changing the plate location may help make the ghost devour the cookies.
- Remove the interactable items around the cookie plate because they might interfere with summoning the ghost.
- Place the cookies on the plate rather than dropping them.
Once you complete the challenges, you can equip the holiday badge.
Thanks to YouTuber Chicky TV for finding many of these solutions.
